'LIT - List It Tuesday - 12/14: How to Distract Yourself in 758 Ways!'

by Mary Lou 'LuLu' Haynes

Howdy and Welcome,

For List IT Tuesday this week, I took inventory of most 'stuff' in our living room. It serves as the 'family room/media room/foyer/copy center/dining room/library/gym/art gallery'.

'How to Distract Yourself in 758 Ways'

We have 'zones' - I guess you would call them... Near the front door, we use a 6 ft. tall  Japanese shoji screen as a room divider to visually separate the 'foyer' from the main family room.

Shortly after we moved into our house, one of my antique pianos was even in the corner of this room - which also served as the music studio. But that baby grand took up almost half the room! Decided I didn't really need two pianos in the house! So I soon arranged to have it moved to the home of a friend who was searching for a piano. They have lot more space in their living room, and are taking quite good care of it.

Anyway, this room serves so many functions. Too many! I'm thinking that hubby and I need to do some purging and re-organizing for the new year. It's time to read my Feng Shui books and put them to good use!

Do you have a multi-function room in your residence - a room that's not your kitchen? How do you delineate the room functions? Would love to see your comments.

Meanwhile, here are some more lists for your List It Tuesday viewing pleasure.

Thanks for visiting - and please come back again soon.

Peace,
LuLu

What a beautiful list! The purple is just so warm and with all the shadows of the background, you could have written just about anything and I'd be mesmerized :) My art room is actually where our dining room should be, but my husband and I decided a while back that stuffy old dining rooms are just not our thing. So instead of too many uses for one room, we have instead repurposed rooms that "should" be for one purpose, into other, more fitting ones :)

Wow ! That must be an amazing room !

We have one room that is multifunction. It's the office/guest bedroom/storage room. Our computer and filing cabinets share the room with a double bed. The closet has totally been decked out with shelves and I store heaps in there ! It's great since there is a lack of storage space elsewhere in the house !

My LIST is up too ...

What a fantastic inventory! Your room is definitely multi-purpose. So many fun memories must have been made in there!

Did you make that paper? OMG

Howdy S.E.,
Thanks for your nice comments.

Yep I made the background paper! It's a calligraphy page from one of my art journals. I scanned it a while back. For my '758 Ways' list I tweaked it in Photoshop and MS Digital Image Editor with transparencies and effects.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back soon.

Peace,
LuLu

did you actually count all 758 ways? wow! And what a nice gift/loan to your friend! I had to move out my piano because I didn't have room... for one!

My living room is now my office/workroom. Not a lot of sitting space, except for around my big table.

Howdy Storybeader,
Yep - added them up with the calculator.

Our living room doesn't even have a couch or coffee table. So we rarely have company over anymore...

Thanks for visiting - and please come back again soon.

Peace,
LuLu
